In September, RAK Ports was invited to participate the 6th China (Lianyungang) Silk Road International Logistics EXPO in Lianyungang City, China.
Lianyungang EXPO is focusing on building an international logistics corridor for “Silk Road Economic Belt”, giving full play to Lianyungang’s advantages in sea-land through transportation hub and logistics service. It is China’s national logistics-themed event for Chinese and overseas ports, logistic equipment companies and logistic firms to explore investment opportunities and seek business cooperation.
Lianyungang Port is one of Top 10 largest ports in China. Its 2018 cargo volumes were 236 million tonnes and container 4.7 million TEUs. During the EXPO, RAK Ports met with leaders from Lianyungang Port. Ms. Chen Guangping, Deputy Director General of Lianyungang Port Group and Mr. Roger Clasquin, Chief Commercial Officer of RAK Ports signed the Sister-Port MoU agreement.
Mr. Roger Clasquin, Chief Commercial Officer commenting afterwards said, “We are honored to participate the EXPO and enter into this strategic partnership with Lianyungang Port. We view this collaboration as the start of a long term relationship between Ras Al Khaimah and Lianyungang”.
